Untertitel: Move, breathe, and relax to improve your quality of life

Klappentext: Shoosh Lettick Crotzer has been teaching yoga since 1974 and specializes in working with special needs students. She wrote and produced Yoga for Arthritis, in partnership with the Arthritis Foundation. She is the founder of Mobility Limited, as well as Enhancement, Inc. a nonprofit organization that works to improve the quality of life for breast cancer survivors. She lives in Morro Bay, CA.

Fibromyalgia is a condition characterized by chronic muscular pain and stiffness, soft tissue tenderness, headaches, dizziness, nausea, cognitive impairment, fatigue, disturbed sleep, and more. Shoosh Lettick Crotzer presents the yoga alternative to managing these symptoms.

Her comprehensive program of 26 illustrated yoga poses, breathing techniques, and guided visualization and relaxation sessions can be practiced regardless of age or yoga experience. She teaches how to use simple props – a chair, a blanket – to modify poses to support your body and your changing needs. The poses are modeled by Deidre Carrigan, a yoga teacher who has fibromyalgia. Each pose includes „Everyday Yoga“, a section that shows how to use the pose to ease the effects of daily activities, such as sitting, driving, and gardening.

Shoosh combines the poses into eight sequences: four for pain relief, one to reduce fatigue and improve sleep, and three for maintaining body awareness and general flexibility. The „Living with Fibromyalgia“ section discusses lifestyle concerns, such as sleep, nutrition, exercise, and managing daily movement. Shoosh’s work is grounded in compassion, offering hope for improving quality of live.
